A  man in his fifties died this morning while descending Mt. Lemmon highway near Rose Canyon Lake.

Preliminary reports indicate the cyclist lost control and crashed on the way down the mountain.

Pima County Sheriff’s Department public information officer Jesus Banuelos said preliminary reports indicate no vehicles were involved in the collision.

Pima County Sheriff and representative to the Tucson-Pima County Bicycle Advisory Committee Ryan Roher said two traffic investigators and a supervisor are on the scene of the crash and have found no evidence of tacks in the area of the collision.

Witnesses indicate the cyclist lost control going around a curve.

The name of the cyclist will not be released until deputies can notify the family. Check back for updates.
