Cyclocross racing returns Tucson this weekend.

For the second year in a row, the SMA Smackdown on Kino cyclocross race hits Quincie Douglas park.

This year however instead of one day or racing, there will be two days of bike racing on Saturday and Sunday and a 5K cross country run on Saturday.

The first race starts at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. The last races are 4:20 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. respectively.

Race organizer will have demo cross bikes on hand for people to use for the race, but are on a first come first server basis. Mountain bikes are also an acceptable ride.

Registration ranges from $5 for juniors, $10 for college racers and $25 for everyone else. Online registration closes Thursday night and race day fees are $30.

Even if you aren’t racing, cyclocross is a blast to watch. For more information and to register, check out the AZCross website.
