Tis the season to be overbooked.

It is October in Tucson, which means each weekend you are faced with a dilemma about what event to hit and what event to skip.

This Sunday is perhaps one of the bigger dilemmas.

Both El Grupo’s Fall Fondo and Cyclovia Tucson are happening on Sunday, Oct. 30.

You might be able to do both if you ride fast.

Fall Fondo

The Fall Fondo is a fundraiser for the youth cycling organization and starts between 7:30 and 9:30 depending on the distance selected. The rides range from 35-75 miles. The price for the event is $100 and includes coffee, pastries, SAG stops and food and drinking following the ride.

You can register and get more information on the El Grupo website

Cyclovia

For the first time ever Cyclovia Tucson is closing a major street for the event, which starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m.  Several blocks of Alvernon Way will be closed to allow participants to get to the Tucson Botanical Gardens, which will be free to tour during the event. They are currently hosting a Frida Kahlo exhibit at the gardens.

The Botanical Gardens is the eastern most hub and the route, which is a 2.25 mile out and back meanders through the Garden District, Palo Verde and Miramonte neighborhood to Performance Bikes, Bookmans and Whole Food hub.

The event is free, but you can always drop the organizers a few bucks. Learn more about the route and activity hubs on the Cyclovia Tucson website
