Got kids? Take them mountain biking this weekend for the International Mountain Biking Association’s Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day.

Tucson’s event is taking place on Saturday at Barrio Trails (1033 E. Miles St.) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Here are a few details about the event:

Come enjoy some fun urban sections of trail and support the introduction of youth to mountain biking. We will organize short fun rides through sections of the Barrio Trails network, help kids with skills for riding in the dirt, and foster safe practices and trail etiquette for new generations of trail users.

We will have some refreshments on hand, and fire up the grill to have some hot dogs from 11:30- 12:30. All participants under 18 get a special event number plate to go on their bike as well as Cliff Z-Bars and stickers.

If you have kids of your own to bring, make sure they have a bike, helmet, and water bottle ready to go. While you’re at it, bring yours along too and get in on the fun!

Folks without kids of their own are welcome to ride as well, and help cheer on the little ones. If you’re interested in volunteering to lead small groups or help out at the tent, please contact Chris Eaves via e-mail: cseaves@gmail.com
