The Arizona Daily Star is reporting that a cyclist was hit on River Road between Sabino Canyon and Craycroft.
A man has been taken to University Medical Center after being hit by a van while riding his bicycle on the northeast side, authorities said.
The crash happened just after 9:15 a.m. on East River Road and North Tanuri Drive, said Anne-Marie Braswell, a Rural/Metro Fire Department spokeswoman.
The man suffered serious injuries in the crash, which caused the closure of River for about 30 minutes.
