About 50 people turned out to remember and honor Steve Vihel who passed away after a battle with heart failure.

Steve started the bike-to-work-breakfast last year when he opened his shop as a way to thank his customers and encourage new riders to try bike commuting.

At yesterday’s event, his friends and family raffled off a bike to help pay for his medical expenses. The raffle raised $8,000.

Check out the video from the breakfast.

  1. To those who stayed away because it might have been a downer, you blew it. This breakfast was anything but.

Although no one brought a beer and a straw so that we could all toast new beginnings, instructions in the making of an exploding fist bump were generously provided.

We should all be so fortunate to have memorials as cool as this one was.
