Tucson Velo and family loaded up suitcases — one of which contains a bike — and headed to Portland for five days.
The goal was to attend Portland’s Sunday Parkway event, which is similar to Cyclovia Tucson, but happens several times each summer and takes place in various neighborhoods around the city. The timing just didn’t work out, but we got to experience some of Portland’s bike features.
Tom Thivener, Tucson’s bike and pedestrian program manager will also happen to be there around the same time and has organized a ride with several Portland planners. I am trying to get Jonathan Maus, the editor of BikePortland.org to join us.
I’ll write a few posts from Portland documenting what I experience bike-wise.
I also have a few posts about Tucson that I am working on and will post from here.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if something comes up while I am out of town.
In the meantime, check out some of the photos from biking around Portland yesterday.
