The 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo just around the corner and the trails are packed with people training for the race (party).
Personally, finding the time to train for my duo with a family and a job has been difficult, but I’ve found riding at night to be a great way to ride and spend time with my family.
Fortunately this winter has been mild and its been realistic to get two or three rides in during the week.
A riding partner of mine described night riding as the “dessert of the day. The thing you get to look forward to for the whole day.”
Seems about right.
Night riding is very anti-social. It greatly disturbs the nocturnal wildlife in the area. Don’t glorify it.
Where is Treed Murray’s comment?
slugghIt’s here. I think a wordpress update may have had something to do with it.
In a whack spasm of 1990’s/early 2000’s 24-hour hikes traversing Catalina, Rincon, Santa Rita and Huachuca ranges, because they were there, Red Star never observed a mountain bike on the trails, night or day. Thanks!
