Ever wanted to go bike camping? Wondering how to get started? BICAS has you covered.
The non-profit bicycle co-op is organizing three informational sessions helping bike riders get setup for bike camping.
Following the classes, BICAS will host their second annual bike camping weekend.
The first class is Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and will cover:
“WHERE DO I GO?”
-Planning your route
-Bike selection
-Lodging options
The second class is on Thursday, Feb. 26 and will cover:
“WHAT DO I BRING?”
-Packing for your trip
-Boxing your bike
-Transporting your bike
The final session will take place on March 5 and will cover:
“WHAT IF SOMETHING BREAKS?”
-Roadside repairs
-Basic tools
-Road Safety
BICAS is charging $20 to participate in all three classes.
On March 7-8 BICAS will lead a bike camping trip to Colossal Caves Mountain Park and will offer three distances. The $55 fee for adults and $35 for kids under 13 includes meals and SAG support.
