The rider of the week this week was an easy one. My wife, Irene, got her new Xtracycle Radish on Thursday and has been tooling around with Luci in tow.

It was a little shocking to be riding next to Luci yesterday on our way to the Tucson Festival of Books, where I’ll be speaking today at 11 a.m. in booth 305.

Both Irene and Luci are having a blast riding together. I’m thrilled they are enjoying it so much and am coming to terms with the fact that I am going to have to share the riding time with Irene.

I was also excited when Irene mentioned riding with Luci to her swim lessons rather than driving and even scoped out a good route to take.

So far my favorite comment came from our 80-year-old neighbor who said she has so much fun watching us pedal away because we look like a family of ducks with our duckling in tow.
