It seems like there are a lot of can’t miss events on the Tucson bicycling calendar. The annual Parade of Lights is one of them and it is happening this Saturday.

Ever year, Santa climbs up onto a bicycle-powered sleigh and his bicycling elves escort him through the streets of downtown Tucson.

It’s always a blast to see this kids scream their heads off for Santa.

BICAS will have some decorations available from 4 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and then will bike over to the staging area at Church and 6th Street.

The parade doesn’t start until 6:30 and it usually takes some time for the parade to get moving. If you have kids you may want to get their closer to the start time so they don’t have to wait around too long.

It’s also a lot of fun to decorate your bikes. You can get battery powered holiday lights and go to town.
