Tucson Velo is one year old today.

I’ve published 751 posts in the last year. Here is an excerpt from my first post:

Thanks for checking in on TucsonVelo.com! We are in the very early stages of creating this website. Ultimately, we would like to make www.bicycletucson.com the go to site for all things bike related in Tucson.

I think TucsonVelo.com has become the go-to website for information about biking and I’m excited to see that local media outlets are watching what happens here and are beginning to publish more stories about cycling in Tucson.

I’m proud of what the site has become and hope it continues to grow and mature in the upcoming year. In order to do that, I need your help.

I’m looking for some help to take the site to the next level. I’d like to find a few writers who would like to contribute to the site.

I am also looking for a sponsorship coordinator who can help organize sponsors. The sponsorship coordinator is a commission-based position.

If you are interested, please email me at TucsonVelo@gmail.com.

Lastly, if you think Tucson Velo is an important resource for cyclists in Tucson, please consider supporting the site by using the paypal button on the right side of the site to make a donation.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to the next year.

  1. Happy Birthday!

I’ve been a regular reader for about 4 months. Tucson Velo gives me important information about bike-related news here in Tucson. I’ve also enjoyed having the opportunity to voice my views and concerns on various bike-related matters. Keep up the great work!

  2. A very happy birthday the Tucson Velo Blog!! I am a regular reader and it IS my go-to site for info and links about cycling in Tucson and beyond….

  3. Everyone clean your spokes….the President is coming.
TucsonVelo, your efforts are greatly appreciated and valued! Many more to you!

  4. Thanks for mentioning the President’s visit, zz. While we’re on that topic, I have a question or two:

I’m planning on riding over. Will there be a place for bicyclists to park? Can we bring our bike lights, as this event will end after dark? What about wearing cleated shoes into McKale?

Mike: Perhaps a post might be in order…

  5. Congratulations, you’ve done a great job! You have provided a very appreciated service in Tucson, and even helped start a couple of institutions, like the Wild West Ride. You rock, Mike. Thanks.

  6. Congrats on so many posts in 1 year. Very impressive! You’ve clearly become the go to site for cyclists in Tucson has you had originally envisioned.

    Keep up the great work.
