Update: I posted new images of the striping in the gallery below.
Crews were out on Mountain Avenue this morning preparing to paint the bike lanes, but Diahn Swartz a traffic engineering project manager for the Tucson Department of Transportation said the striping they add today is temporary.
Swartz, who was at the site overseeing the crews, said the real bike lanes will be painted after the rest of the project is completed. She also said the pavement marking will be wider than the 4 inch temporary lanes being painted today.
I’ve added a few images from this morning to the gallery below and I’ll add more images tonight after the striping has been completed.
