Check out Arizona Public Media reporter, Robert Rappaport’s latest blog about parking hikes at the University of Arizona. He posts a recent memo making the rounds saying the Parking and Transportation office is going to keep the parking fees level. They had planned a significant rate increase.

Prices range from $200 for off-campus park and ride lots to $568 for a parking garage. The increase would have made the fees rise to $282 and $684 respectively for the 2010-11 school year. The fees were also scheduled to rise to $350 and $800 the year after.

The fees for parking bikes on campus will also stay at its current price of $0.

  3. Well, parking a bike on campus costs you nothing but an occasional bike – unless you pay from $35 to $90 a year for UA secure bike parking.

  5. Scott, you are right about theft being a big problem. I actually do spend the $35 for a bike enclosure.

I’ve even toyed with spending the $90 for the locker so that I could take by nice bike to campus.
