This photo reminds me of one of my favorite things about riding my bike. You get to take in the world around you and enjoy it.
On a recent grocery trip, Luci started squealing when she saw the horses as we rode by the University of Arizona farm. We stopped and spent a few minutes watching the horses as they grazed.
Would she have seen them whizzing by at 40 miles an hour, would I have stopped? I don’t know, but I do know riding a bike makes it easy to have those experiences.
Here is to many more great experiences in 2011.

My daughter always spotted the horses but we only stopped the car once to let her look at them. I’m sure we would’ve stopped more often if we’d been on a bike. The only thing is, I doubt I would have ever ridden a bike w/ her on it so far from home that she would see the horses in the first place.
