Additional temporary bicycle parking was required for the City Council meeting two weeks ago.

Once again bicycle parking is on the Tucson City Council’s agenda at their meeting tonight.

Two weeks ago the council rejected a parking code that would have made it easier for developers to place the bike parking farther from business entrances and would have required fewer spaces overall.

The council asked the developers and bicycle advocates to return to the table and come up with a compromise that would work for everyone, something they did last week.

Bicycle advocate, Ian Johnson, was part of the group who worked on the compromise last week and said the new code is something that is good for cyclists and is planning on speaking this evening in support of the new code.
