SATURDAY

The Old Pueblo Grand Prix kicks off today and finishes this evening with pro races starting around 4:30 p.m. in downtown Tucson. Check their website for more details for start times and directions.

SUNDAY

Tomorrow, a rainy and cold weather front is predicted to move in to Southern Arizona.

The Tumacacori Road Race was scheduled to start Sunday morning, but race organizers have canceled the race. Organizer sent a message to racers saying they were disappointed, but the weather looked nasty enough to cancel the race.

Racers can either seek a refund for their entry or let the race organizers donate their entry fees to El Groupo Youth Cycling, the event’s beneficiary.

Cyclovia Tucson, is going to happen regardless of whatever the weather brings. Event organizer Emily Yetman sent out an email yesterday assuring riders that the event would take place.

Yetman said the volunteers and police would be in place to close the roads allowing people to cruise the route. Here’s what she wrote:

“The answer is YES, Cyclovia will happen on Sunday come rain or shine.  (We’ll keep our fingers crossed for the latter.)  Our many community partners are on board and will be there to offer you fun activities and information; the streets will be closed; our volunteers are set to go, and so are we!  Come on out and join us!!!”
