I've been thinking about insuring my bikes. Anyone have any experience with that?
I know home owner's insurance has some protection, but is there more coverage I can get?

get replacement value insurance for your bikes on your home owners. This insures that should it get stolen, you'll be able to replace your bike no problem.
Does it matter where it is stolen? What about damage due to a crash or something?
I already had a separate policy from my homeowners insurance for “sporting equipment and jewelry”. This covers my firearms, jewelry of my wife, etc. I ended up putting my nice new bike on the same policy and it's covered for replacement value. The deductible is $5 – yes, five dollars. Under homeowners insurance, it would be whatever the deductible is for that policy – something that State Farm is going to put up to $1000. I'm paying an extra $10 or so a month for my bike now and it gives me piece of mind if it gets wrecked or some goober steals it. Check with your agent to see what they offer. If you're with State Farm, you can get that $5 deductible.

Thanks for the link, Red Star.
On the topic of insurance for the rider on the bike (covered in the phred.org link above), those injured by a driver may be able to claim under the underinsured driver cover of their auto policy. I did, successfully.
