I have a few of little things to report, but none of them were worthy of their own post, so I am going to put everything here.

The Ride of Silence got a lot of comments over the fact that they require a helmet to ride. I emailed the Tucson organizer asking whether people would be turned away if they were not wearing a helmet. Here is the response:

Helmets are required for this ride. I would encourage them to wear them for this event.

I was going to post a Q&A with congressional candidate Jonathan Paton this morning, but I decided to hold off publishing it until next week because this weekend is so busy and I haven’t actually gotten a chance to type up the notes.

Lastly, I’ve planned out my day tomorrow and I am trying to hit each one of the events, but that means I’ll miss portions of everything.

I am going to be at the GABA swap meet from 7-9:30 a.m., Cyclovia from 10-11:30 a.m., the Urban Assault ride from noon-3 p.m., (full disclosure: The New Belgium crew comped my entry to the Urban Assault) then the Tucson Bike Beautiful party from 3:30 p.m. until I decide I have to go home and sleep. I am planning on posting twitter updates and photos form the events.

I am hoping you guys will submit some of the photos you take from the various events to me so that I can include the in the gallery I post. I, of course, will give you credit for your photos.

I’ll be wearing a custom TucsonVelo.com shirt tomorrow, so if you see me be sure to stop me and say, hi.

Overheard by wife at a coffee shop this morning: “They are closing my street tomorrow for that cyclops thing.”

Here are a few photos from the Urban Assault package pickup:

  1. You’re entry for Cylovia is comped too. It free for everybody and probably more interesting than Tucson’s second-tier Scavenger Hunt.

  3. I was bummed when I found out they were both on the same day.

They have both said that they are geared toward different people, but I suspect I am not the only person who wants to participate in both events.

  5. That was a nice sidestep on the helmet question – so people *will* be turned away, or won’t they? That would be good to know before schlepping all the way down there.
