A meeting to discuss putting the Mount Lemmon bicycle trailhead at MacDonald park will be held at Collier Elementary School’s cafeteria from 6 – 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
The school is located at 3900 N. Bear Canyon Road.
Cyclists are being encouraged to attend and share their opinions about the proposed location.
Read the original story and view the map of MacDonald park.
Still sad that the neighbors & Ray Carroll are being so selfish regarding the original proposed trailhead. Jean Gorman has done an amazing job and it would be a shame to create a trailhead at an alternative site like MacDonald park that will not be used. I would rather see her put her effort & money elsewhere. I know that the majority of Tucson Cyclists will continue to use the beautiful Brad Gorman Memorial Parkway on Catalina Highway. Ask around at the Sat am rides. Cyclists will not congregate at some obscure location. It would be a real shame to see the enthusiasm to “get something done” end in a memorial trailhead that, for the most part, goes unused.
